The other ladies in the book weren't as infuriating. But it struck me that all the men were either dumb, or weak, or stupid, or something else that makes them unnecessary. I think this book was trying to do something for the women's movement, but what, I can't figure out. Showing a bunch of women who are already massively successful resorting to underhanded trickery, whining, and other bad behaviors to get even further ahead while emasculating their husbands doesn't seem to me to show women in a good light.

We enjoyed the spa facilities and they organised a table for us at Isola, the poolside restaurant. The staff at Isola were warm and accommodating and I enjoyed a drink while waiting for my husband. On his arrival we were given menus. I ordered the chicken skewers (R190 - no sides) and he ordered the salmon poke bowl (R300). What I found a bit disconcerting was that our server then asked me how I wanted my chicken done (??? ) I asked them what they meant and they proceeded to say that some guests liked it medium rare. Chicken? Medium rare? I think someone should inform the staff that chicken under-cooked is a bit of a risky offering. I specifically asked to have my chicken cooked, but unfortunately dry was the result.
